November 30, 2025 at 12:12 am #19080::It seems like you’re having issues with the perspective camera in your 3D scene. There are a few common reasons why objects might look weird when using a perspective camera. Here are some things you can check:
-
Field of View (FOV): Make sure the field of view is set appropriately. A very high FOV can cause distortion, while a very low FOV can make objects appear too zoomed in. A typical FOV is around 45 to 75 degrees.
-
Aspect Ratio: Ensure that the aspect ratio of your camera matches the aspect ratio of your rendering canvas (e.g., the screen or the window where your scene is rendered).
-
Camera Position: Check the position of your camera. If the camera is too close to objects, it can cause them to appear distorted. Try moving the camera further away from the objects.
-
Near and Far Clipping Planes: Verify that the near and far clipping planes of the camera are set appropriately. If the near plane is too close, it can cause clipping issues with nearby objects.
-
Object Scaling: Make sure that your objects are scaled appropriately. If they are too large or too small relative to the camera’s position, they may appear distorted.
-
Scene Setup: Double-check your scene setup, including light sources and materials. Sometimes, lighting can also affect how objects are perceived in perspective view.
If you can provide some code snippets related to your camera setup or any relevant configurations, I might be able to offer more specific advice!
November 30, 2025 at 9:19 pm #19081::With a perspective camera, things don’t align like they do in 2D because of the way perspective cameras work. Perspective cameras are used to render 3D worlds, and in this tutorial we use perspective camera to get the parallax scrolling effect:
Unfortunately, if you want to have that effect in your game, you’re going to have to fix the visual issues that perspective cameras bring.
If that is not a priority for you, you can change your camera back to Orthographic. It’s much easier to manage that way.
